This is my first time growing Cotten, I started growing these two plants from seeds I got from a neighbor and I noticed one of them had a lot of ants crawling down its stem. After looking closer I noticed all these little white bugs! I can also tell a difference in height between the one that’s infected (being smaller) and the one that’s not.

They are planted in along the eastern side of my building and get a good amount of sun for the majority of the day. I live in a part of hawaii that rains often so I only water them myself when I notice they are starting to look a bit droopy and it hasn’t rained recently.

Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated ❤️

Aphids, and apparently some kind of caterpillars (who might be feasting on said aphids)

Hose off the plants regularly in the mornings for a bit and/or buy a bunch of ladybugs

The ants are farming honeydew. The brownish insect is a good guy. Baby lacewing. You can hose them off, but let the little larva eat for a while. You may notice how effective they are.

    I forgot, I think they’re aphids. There’s a cotton aphid.
